Mulligan Concept of Manual Therapy
Revolutionize Recovery
All of our therapists are trained in the Mulligan Concept of Manual Therapy: a simple yet effective manual approach for restoration of function and abolition of pain. Don and Bret are MCTA Instructors, and Lynn is a Certified Practitioner.
Read on to learn about Brian Mulligan, the Mulligan Concept, and opportunities for hosting or attending upcoming courses.

The Mulligan Concept is a unique approach to manual therapy discovered and developed by physiotherapist Brian Mulligan of Wellington, New Zealand. This simple yet effective manual approach addresses musculoskeletal disorders with pain free manual joint “repositioning” techniques for restoration of function and abolition of pain.

A Mulligan Concept course is technical, post-graduate instruction of manual therapy techniques taught by an accredited member of the Mulligan Concept Teachers Association.  The curriculum in the USA consists of four 2-day courses:

Course A: Upper Quadrant
Course B: Lower Quadrant
Course C: Advanced

Jacksonville Physical Therapy's Don, Bret and Lynn Reordan are accredited member of the Mulligan Concept Teachers Association and has been the principal instructor in postgraduate manual therapy courses since 1998.

Both lower quadrant and upper quadrant courses serve as excellent starting points for mobilization with movement training. Typically accommodating 20-30 participants, Mulligan courses may have as few as 12 or as many as 400 attendees, necessitating multiple instructors for larger groups. A minimum of 1 table for every 3 participants is required, and various table types, including plinths, massage tables, high-low tables, or sturdy regular tables, can be utilized. Courses often begin with clinic participants and are advertised on our website to attract additional attendees. Private courses are also available for organizations with sufficient internal participants. To schedule a course, complete the form, and we'll promptly reach out to discuss details.
